Only Friends

How many times have you heard this set of words being used? If you haven't, then I say that you are a lucky person. However, having found myself on the receiving end (directly or indirectly) of this phrase countless number of times, I sometimes wonder. Is it good that I have so many people around me who consider me as a friend? Or is it just my naivety and that I am simply destined for solitude? All my ruminations could still not lead me to a conclusion. All that I can say for sure is that...

Only Friends - the two best and worst words in the whole world!

ur post really made me think...
n introspect what i feel about this..
Would just say continue making friends until one meets someone 'who turns out to be much more than just a friend'...and the feelings are reciprocated as well

must say..awesome thought communicated by you in few words...

@ Penning: Thnx for the moral support. :) The reciprocation part is the main problem! :(

Disclaimer: I'm not as sensitive as the others...and you know that :)

Dude, you sound like Chandler when Heckles dies.."Bitter Town. Aloneville. Hermit Junction."...

All the same...I think that one of the problems with 'being alone' is that all of us tend to link it with some sort of achievement at some level - "I wasnt good enough for to find someone.."...blah blah

Yes perhaps we are social animals and need moral support now and then etc...and therfore need a partner...perhaps...but if you detach urself from the emotional garbage society throws at us, I'm sure you will have a different stand on this..might not be drastically different..but different I'm sure..

@ Riaan: THAT is a very interesting take on the issue. I never thought abt it frm that angle. Yeah...it's worth a try, I guess. Thanks for the suggestion.

Are these the thoughts from a lonely rainy night with no hut mug of coffee? ;) . And you definitely aren't one who believes in mincing their words :) :) ,You are walking on a thin line here , just don't go over to the other side. (May the force be with you) good job! Keep it up! :D :D

@ Mutterer: Well something like that...just replace the rain with mind numbing cold and stormy winds. Will try to keep looking for the silver lining...thnx for the confidence...I appreciate it!

it happens....really does....and it happens a lot to most guys, so don't worry. Someone, someday, will say something else for sure....and you'll realise that the wait was worth it. Really was.

Note to self: make it a point to repeat this to yourself once in a while. Will keep depression away.
